About Me
I worked as a medical laboratory technologist in the United States before changing my career to teaching. I have been teaching English as a foreign language now for eight years. Teaching allows me to connect more with people while helping them to reach their goals which is something I enjoying doing. I studied a masters in Multicultural and Bilingual Education in Madrid while doing an internship at a nearby high school. I also have a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA).
Learning a foreign language is a challenge that I understand personally which is why I am patient and supportive in my teaching style. My classes are very communicative and interactive. They incorporate all four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. There is often an emphasis on speaking as students usually want to practice this the most. I correct their grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation when speaking. I can also adapt the amount of grammar focus according to the student’s preferences and interests.
